The story behind the food

Gabala Restaurant at Riverside Hotel brings together Azerbaijani, Eastern and international cuisine in a spacious, elegant dining room. Traditional touches sit alongside contemporary style, creating a warm welcome for guests.

With room for up to 400 guests, the restaurant hosts larger events and gatherings as well as meals with family and friends. Come together over local flavours or choose a familiar favourite from the menu.

Meet the chef

Elmar Əliyev

Corporate Executive Chef

Elmar Aliyev has more than 15 years of professional experience in Azerbaijani and international cuisine. He has represented Azerbaijan at international gastronomy festivals and received awards in culinary competitions.

In 2022, he worked at Auberge du Jeu de Paume in Chantilly, France, gaining valuable experience in fine dining.

For the past five years, his work in Gabala has brought together local produce, Azerbaijani culinary traditions and contemporary presentation. His philosophy is simple: local ingredients, distinctly Azerbaijani flavours and a modern approach.
